Dr Toby is part of the EAAA crew who brings advanced critical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the most seriously ill and injured people in the region by air and road. His background includes a wide range of experience in Emergency Medicine, Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) and Critical Care, including working with another air ambulance charity for a period. He has now been with EAAA for almost five years.
“I worked for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance for a few years and then became a Consultant in North West Anglia (NHS) Foundation Trust in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and now PHEM at EAAA. I do some transfer, major trauma and EEAST work as well.” Toby says.
Toby says he was inspire to be a doctor to have the opportunity to work with people and care for seriously ill and injured patients.
As EAAA Lead in POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound), Toby also has a keen interest in critical care and system pathways, but his favourite part of the role he has is: “to have the opportunity to look after some of the most unwell patients and maybe have the opportunity to try and make it a tiny bit better; this is a privilege and I am very fortunate to do my role.”

Outside of EAAA, Toby enjoys windsurfing and mountain biking.
