Dr Jon PHEM Consultant

Dr Jon started at EAAA as a PHEM trainee and worked for six months full time from EAAA's Cambridge base. He continued his involvement with HEMS at EAAA as a Consultant and has led on the introduction of Butterfly Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and our work in endovascular resuscitation (SPEAR).

Pre Hospital Emergency Medicine Consultant, Dr Jon says: “I have been involved in pre-hospital care for over ten years and previously worked at scenes when EAAA attended by helicopter. I was inspired to one day join the crew and be able to do my dream job!”

EAAA delivers high-quality clinical education. Advanced Life Support, Point of Care Ultrasound and Specialist Endovascular Access in Resuscitation courses are examples of EAAA leading the way nationally and internationally with teaching advanced skills that contribute to improving the outcome of patients we treat and improving expertise beyond clinicians who work with EAAA (ambulance and hospital-based clinicians). Specialising in Endovascular Resuscitation, POCUS and Research, Jon’s favourite part of his role with EAAA is training and mentoring and seeing clinicians develop and progress.

Dr Jon adds: “I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do the job I do, and see first hand what a difference the efforts of our supporters make to patients; every one of them is a real life-saver!”

When he’s not at EAAA, Dr Jon now lives in the Peak District and says he is fortunate to have the hills on his doorstep which gives him lots of encouragement to go out running and walking.
