Dr Frances PHEM Sub-Specialty Doctor

Frances is a Senior Registrar in Emergency Medicine in South London and is currently seconded to the East of England for national Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) training.

For as long as Dr Frances can remember, she wanted to be a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) clinician, and has particular interests in pre-hospital trauma care, crew wellbeing, research and global health. She works as part of both the Anglia One (Norwich) and Anglia Two (Cambridge) crew to bring pre-hospital emergency treatment and care to some of the most seriously injured and unwell people across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Frances always had her eyes set on working in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine and enjoys the collaborative working opportunities this brings. She says: “From very early on, I crafted my training to reach this goal and it’s been an incredible journey. It’s a privilege to deliver such high-quality care in such a timely manner. I love working with our colleagues in EEAST to give our patients the best care through our team working and support of each other.”

“When we are in the most stressful scenes with critically unwell patients, we can only do our best for those patients as a result of EAAA supporters who allow us to be there.”

Outside of EAAA, Frances enjoys spending time with family. She says: “I might be slightly biased, but I have the best niece and nephew in the world!”
