Ben Critical Care Paramedic

Ben joined the ambulance service in 1998 and in 2009 was selected to be part of a team of critical care paramedics at EAAA based in Norwich.

Ben has worked as a Critical Care Paramedic with EAAA for over 14 years, bringing life-saving out-of-hospital care directly to the scene of medical emergencies in the region. He has a particular interest in post-cardiac arrest patient management, and in 2013 he gained a Master’s degree in Critical Care.

Ben says: “I was inspired to progress my career in critical care after working many times alongside EAAA at various incidents during my ambulance career.  EAAA’s commitment to high quality evidence-based pre-hospital critical care is what inspired me to go through the rigorous selection process.”

He is usually part of the Anglia One (Norwich) crew who attend some of the most critically unwell and injured people in the region, 24 hours a day, from Helimed House, EAAA’s Norwich headquarters.

Ben adds that being part of the supportive and dedicated EAAA team is what motivates him and is his favourite part of the role, and he is focussed on providing out of hospital critical care to people who
