24 hours. 6 lives. Please help us respond.

Every day, across East Anglia, we treat on average six people facing life-threatening emergencies.

This could be your neighbour, a loved one, or even you. But it’s never just 24 hours and it’s not just six lives. We need to fund the next life-saving mission and the one after that. The need for critical care in our region never stops.

Despite the urgent nature of the incidents that we attend, EAAA is a charity which relies almost entirely on supporter donations to operate. Your support enables our doctors and critical care paramedics to bring hospital-level care directly to local people in their greatest hour of need.

Air Ambulance Week

Air Ambulance Week takes off on 9 - 15 September, shining a spotlight on the vital work of air ambulances across the UK. Accidents can happen anywhere, at any time. This year’s theme, ‘Today’s Supporter, Tomorrow’s Life-saver,’ highlights the impact your support can have. By becoming a supporter today, you can help save lives tomorrow.

Jonathan's Story

Air Ambulance Week 2024 is a great reminder of how your support helped to save the life of 36-year-old Jonathan, who suffered a medical emergency in September 2022. Without the urgent critical care at the scene, which your kindness and generosity provided, Jonathan’s story could have been very different.

What's happening during the week?

It’s a jam-packed week and there is plenty going on across the region to recognise your life-saving impact.

On air!

EAAA will be on your TV screens not once, but twice this week. Emergency Helicopter Medics returns to Channel 4 on Tuesday 10 September at 8pm. Tune in to see EAAA crews attend two medical emergencies in our region. On Friday at 8pm, viewers can have an immersive experience in Channel 5’s ‘Rescue 999: Seconds to Save A Life’. Body-cam footage goes behind the scenes of a road traffic collision attended by the EAAA crew.

Building light-ups

On Monday 9 September, you can see local landmarks light up to mark Air Ambulance Week 2024. The Willis Building in Ipswich and Norwich’s Theatre Royal will be lighting up in EAAA colours to shine a light on your life-saving support.

Social media

Air ambulance charities throughout the UK will be sharing some of the incredible stories of those whose lives have been impacted by your incredible support on social media during the week. You can follow the activity via #AAW2024 #AirAmbulanceWeek and #Todayssupportertomorrowslifesaver.

Emergency Services Day

Monday 9 September is also Emergency Services Day. This promotes the work of the emergency services, basic life-saving skills, and promotes the many career and volunteering opportunities available. We are proud to work alongside other emergency services, including the police, ambulance and fire services to treat, on average, six people each day.

Remember a Charity Week

Gifts in Wills fund one in three of our emergency missions. These exceptional gifts give future generations, not only the best chance of survival, but the chance to go on to live a fulfilling life. Remember A Charity Week is an opportunity for people to take a moment to consider leaving a gift to charity in their Will, after looking after family and friends.
