Young fundraisers celebrated at regional awards

The achievements of two young fundraisers, who have both supported EAAA by taking on personal challenges, were recognised and celebrated at a recent awards ceremony.

Denny Williams, from Suffolk, and Isaac Major, from Norfolk, both completed cycling challenges independently of each other. They each raised over £1,000 in aid of EAAA to help save local lives. At the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (East) Awards, held online on 26 June 2024, they shared the accolade of Young Fundraisers of the Year.

This well-deserved recognition was a wonderful surprise for Denny, Isaac and their families. Chair of the CIOF (East) committee, Stuart Wyle, described both as “inspirational, passionate and dedicated young fundraisers.”

Denny’s Mum said she was “massively proud”, especially as the fundraising idea for EAAA came from Denny himself, while Dad, James, said that Denny’s cycling enthusiasm is gathering pace and he has set his sights on competing in the Tour de France one day!”

Isaac said he was “really proud” of his win, and he described conquering Mount Snowdon as his favourite part of his fundraising adventure.

The awards also recognised people and teams in other categories, including Campaign/Event of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Corporate Partner and Team of the Year, during an uplifting evening, which celebrated fundraisers and volunteers in the East of England. London Luton Airport and Ringway were also shortlisted in the Corporate Partner of the Year category in recognition of their support for EAAA.

Thank you and congratulations, Denny and Isaac! It’s wonderful to see the next generation care so deeply about their communities by supporting East Anglian Air Ambulance.
