The challenge sees groups and clubs from across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire vying for the top spot to raise the most money in aid of EAAA’s 24/7 life-saving service. The appeal of taking on like-minded people in East Anglia to raise the most amount of money in the quickest time was certainly something that participants embraced, with Sandles Car Supermarket in West Norfolk being the first team to reach the £500 target.
Laura Sandles says: “Everybody knows somebody who has needed East Anglian Air Ambulance. We’re based close to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, so we see the East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter fly past. Many people, particularly in rural areas understand the importance of the helicopter in getting help to people in need.”
The winner overall winner of the 2024 Trade Up challenge was Towergate Insurance Brokers – North Anglia. They raised an amazing £3,398.
Towergate’s Khloe Osbourne and Pauline Perkins said:
“We had the fortuitous opportunity to take part in the ‘EAAA Trade Up Challenge 2024’ on the back of fundraising activities we had embarked upon earlier in the year. Some of our ‘trade up’ activities included a silent auction, cake sale, dress up challenge and office quiz. We were not only given the opportunity to support such an amazing cause but the buzz and activity around the team was amazing. It gave everyone the opportunity to work together outside of the usual office environment, we all had fun raising both money and awareness of this great cause whilst of course sampling lots and lots of cake…who doesn’t love cake!”
EAAA Community Fundraiser, Christine Wright, says: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all the participants of the 2024 Trade Up Challenge for raising over £18,000. By taking part, you have ensured our crews are there for people experiencing serious medical emergencies in East Anglia and beyond, 24/7. Congratulations to Towergate for winning this year’s challenge, and M + A Partners and Abbey College Cambridge who were following close on their heels. Well done also to Sandles Car Supermarket who were the first to reach £500. The feedback from all participants has been amazing and we look forward to next year – bring on Trade Up 2025!”
Towergate Insurance Brokers added: “We would encourage anyone to take part in this challenge. Working with EAAA has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we feel grateful to have had the opportunity. As we are now the defending champions…. we look forward to some healthy competition in 2025!”
