Friends for life, thanks to volunteering with EAAA

Tracey wanted to volunteer for EAAA in memory of a dear family friend who was attended by the Anglia One (Norwich crew). She has now donated her time to the charity for over two years, supporting various events, as well as helping people to learn the skills to help save a life.

“I am a Community CPR Trainer, and I help at events and bucket collections. I love talking to the public and educating them on everything EAAA,” Tracey explains. “Glynis and I have done lots and lots of events together. We met over two years ago when we were selling raffle tickets for a charity event for EAAA. We just clicked.”

Glynis has been a volunteer with EAAA for eight years following a move to the region. Having previous volunteered for charity elsewhere, she knew she would miss it and kept her eye out for local opportunities. “I think I read an article in Lift Off magazine about volunteering for East Anglian Air Ambulance. The rest is history, as they say!” Glynis says.

Glynis has embraced her time with EAAA and has helped with all kinds of events and activities.

“I enjoy doing it as it gets me out and I meet some lovely people,” she says. “Tracey and I have worked together at various events including bucket collections, event marshalling, and running a stall.  We get on well together and agree on what needs doing. We seem to always have lots to chat about – very often not about EAAA!”

Tracey adds, “I usually text Glynis to tell her events that I’m doing so we can be together.”
