Having predominantly worked on a rapid response car in Norwich until 2018, Alex then went to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance as a Critical Care Paramedic. After four years, he came back to Norfolk to work as an Advanced Paramedic Critical Care on the first Advanced Practice car in Norfolk before joining EAAA in January 2024.
Alex says: “When I joined the ambulance service, I knew I wanted to be a paramedic, but it wasn’t until I met my mentor that I found out that the paramedic role could be so much more. After learning from my mentor and seeing what the critical care paramedic and doctor could offer to patients inspired me to not only work towards becoming a paramedic, but to become a critical care paramedic and now an advanced critical care paramedic.
Alex’s areas of interest include human factors and non-technical skills. He enjoys being part and of a team that consistently wants to improve and develop each other and deliver the very best clinical care.
He adds: “I cannot thank the donors, fundraisers and supporters of EAAA enough; you have been the bedrock to EAAA for many years and allowed the service to grow, save lives and become a place to work that is like no other in the healthcare system. The future of the charity is firmly in the hands of donors, fundraising, supporters – and their kindness and generosity is unbeatable.”
Outside of EAAA, Alex enjoys relaxing with his family at home, taking long walks around Norfolk’s country estates or indulging in a spot of DIY at home.
