Usually part of EAAA’s Anglia Two (Cambridge) crew, Dr Brendan is also an NHS Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He says: “I am VERY lucky as my work is 50% NHS and 50% EAAA, which is an enviable mix of life and keeps me very happy.”
As a doctor with EAAA, Brendan says he is proud to work in a team with a variety of specialisms that help us provide the very best care for patients. As a doctor with a specialism and interest in paediatric critical care, he is grateful to be able to share his knowledge and expertise in paediatric care to give the most unwell children in our region the best chance of survival.
Working in a highly skilled and dedicated team is a part of the role that Dr Brendan’s most enjoys. He says: “Working alongside my colleagues is one of the highlights of my job at EAAA. I don’t always tell them, but I do love them! When we return to base from a call at 3am, that’s when we have the most unusual and profound conversations. This support for each other is central to our work, and makes those bad days a little bit easier to process.”
Dr Brendan has also supported EAAA at various awareness events across the region and is grateful to all the EAAA donors and fundraisers who make the charity’s life-saving work possible.
When he’s not working, you may find Brendan at the coast enjoying the fresh air of the seaside!
