Dr Neil primarily works as part of the EAAA Anglia Two (Cambridge) crew, but he also carries out shifts with Anglia One (Norwich) in his role as Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Consultant. As part of the crew, he brings out-of-hospital critical care to some of the most severely unwell and injured people across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, 24/7.
Neil says he enjoys all aspects of pre-hospital emergency medicine, and his specialisms and interests include SPEAR, arterial line and resuscitation. His favourite aspects of his role include working with the wider EAAA team to provide advanced out-of-hospital clinical care.
EAAA is tasked to, on average eight critical care emergencies every day from the charity’s bases in Norwich and Cambridge. Neil always has patient care and patient outcomes at the forefront of his mind, and says: “I am motivated by patient results and a happy high functioning team.”
He also acknowledges the vital role that EAAA supporters, fundraisers and donors play in saving lives across the region: “Thank you to EAAA supporters; they are very generous, special people who save lives daily.”
In his free time, Neil relaxes by exercising, including running, swimming, cycling, and watching his two children enjoying playing sport.
