Dr Rob is one of two Deputy Medical Directors at EAAA. He has a particular passion for research, education and innovation “to keep EAAA at the forefront of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine delivery” and he oversees EAAA’s Research, Audit, Innovation and Development (RAID) group. This group is part of EAAA’s commitment to giving every patient the best possible chance of surviving and recovering from a life-threatening incident by advancements in pre-hospital medicine through research, collaboration, and education.
He has also led on the development of EAAA’s Academy of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine, which provides an academic platform from which we can share our expert and specialist knowledge with others. A key element, which Rob has led to develop in partnership with the University of East Anglia, is a Post Graduate Certificate in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine. The modules of which equip healthcare professionals with foundational knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary for a career in advanced PHEM.
Rob has grown up, trained and worked in the East of England and, having been at EAAA for four years, he says he works with “incredible people” who motivate him every day, but it’s EAAA supporters who are key in the delivery and development of EAAA’s 24/7 life-saving service. Rob says: “We couldn’t do anything we do for the people of the East of England without them.”
Outside of EAAA, Rob enjoys exploring the great outdoors and says his favourite place to be is “up a mountain, anywhere!”
