Liam

Liam joined the Ambulance service in London in 2011 before moving to the East of England in 2014. Prior to this Liam worked for the Police and HM Coastguard.

Before joining EAAA in 2018, Liam worked in various roles including the Hazardous Area Response Team. Liam qualified as an Advanced Paramedic in Critical Care following successful completion of a Masters in Emergency and Resuscitation Medicine. In 2021, Liam was voted the Air Ambulance UK Critical Care Practitioner of the Year. He has been involved in EAAA’s RAID team and was the author of a published paper on Critical hypertension in trauma patients following Pre-Hospital Emergency Anaesthesia in the Scandinavian Journal of Trauma and Emergency Medicine in 2023.

Liam works at both Cambridge and Norwich bases and is passionate on improving survival and outcomes from Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest. Since 2023, Liam has been undertaking a part time secondment as the National Strategic lead for Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest with the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives. His work is focused on driving improving across the ambulance services for cardiac arrest patients and reducing health inequalities in resuscitation. As well as this Liam also volunteers his time by responding from home for Suffolk Accident Rescue Service to provide critical care in his local area.

When not at work Liam spends most of his time either on the water sailing, or in the water swimming, if he is not holiday…which he often is.
