Nigel joined the East of England Ambulance Service in 2003, initially qualifying as an Emergency Medical Technician before becoming a Paramedic in 2008. Over the past 20 years, he has accumulated extensive experience in pre-hospital emergency care.

In 2019, Nigel transitioned to a HEMS role with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, where he operates as part of a critical care team, delivering advanced interventions to critically ill or injured patients. Alongside his air ambulance duties, Nigel has worked as a Clinical Practice Supervisor and a Clinical Field Operations Trainer, emphasizing education and development within pre-hospital care.

Nigel says: “Working in HEMS combines two of my passions: aviation and critical care. The environment is dynamic and constantly pushes you to improve. Every mission is a team effort, and I’m privileged to work alongside incredibly skilled and motivated colleagues.”

With a keen interest in the outdoors, he enjoys climbing, trekking, running, and walking.

Nigel adds: “The generosity of our supporters is what makes this vital service possible. It’s inspiring to know that every mission is backed by a community that believes in our work.”
