EAAA’s 2024 PHEM ‘Breaking Barriers’ Conference open for booking

East Anglian Air Ambulance's RAID (Research, Audit, Innovation and Development) group is hosting its annual one-day medical research conference, open to everyone with an interest in pre-hospital emergency medicine (PHEM). The event, which has been accredited with six hours of CPD from the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, takes place on Friday 29 November 2024 at Downing College in Cambridge and will focus on innovations in pre-hospital resuscitation.

East Anglian Air Ambulance’s RAID group supports the charity to monitor and continually improve the service it provides to patients and uses the latest evidence behind cutting edge pre-hospital care to develop new treatments, equipment, and skills. Supporting medical professionals to stay at the forefront of PHEM advancements, RAID ‘Breaking Barriers’ will also offer networking and opportunities to contribute to shaping the future of pre-hospital care.

This year’s conference, which is sponsored by Zoll, will explore ground-breaking research on the impact of pre-hospital care on traumatic brain injury and the latest advancements in endovascular out of hospital cardiac arrest resuscitation. It will also explore initiatives to provide essential support for survivors and clinicians in PHEM, address critical research gaps in PHEM, discover how to foster innovation, and discuss the potential of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) in resuscitation and its impact on patient outcomes.
